Meursault-Goutte d'Or 2010: This is ripe enough where the yellow orchard fruit aromas flirt with being ever-so-slightly exotic in character but otherwise the nose is fresh and cool with background notes of hazelnut, pear and spice hints. There is excellent richness and volume plus solid power to the mouth coating flavors that possess plenty of dry extract, all wrapped in an explosively long and highly energetic finish. This is a seriously impressive effort that is built to age.Score 94
Meursault-Goutte d'Or 2009: A restrained to the point of being discreet set of aromas offers up strikingly complex, pure and spicy ripe white and yellow orchard fruit that complements the succulent, intense and gorgeously delineated flavors that possess superb mid-palate concentration on the explosive and almost painfully intense bone dry finish. This is a 'wow' wine and a true knockout.Score 95
Meursault-Goutte d'Or 2008: Somewhat surprisingly, the nose is even more elegant and finer than that of the Charmes with its ripe, pure and airy aromas of white flower and citrus where the latter also suffuses the textured, concentrated and refined medium-bodied flavors that possess really lovely precision and a subtle finishing mineral character. I very much like the style as it's understand and graceful as well as balanced and attractively dry. Excellent quality Score 93
Meursault-Goutte d'Or 2007: This is slightly riper but more elegant with a subtle touch of spice adding depth to the citrus, apricot and fresh peach aromas that leads to detailed, lemony and more obviously mineral suffused flavors that possess excellent complexity on the driving finish. There is absolutely no sense of heaviness present, which Goutte d'Or can sometimes display, with perfect balance. This is at another level.Score 92
Meursault-Goutte d'Or 2006: A touch of pain grillé sets off very ripe but not exotic spiced peach, pear and apricot aromas that complement well the exceptionally rich yet layered and beautifully well balanced medium full flavors that also possess buckets of dry extract on the palate staining finish. As good as the Charmes is, and it's excellent, this goes it one better. Highly recommended.Score 93
Meursault-Goutte d'Or 1990: A wonderfully fresh, mature and highly complex nose introduces seductively textured and very generous medium-bodied flavors that possess outstanding mid-palate concentrated as well as plenty of palate staining sap on the superbly long and intense finish that seems to go on for minutes. This is a genuinely stunning effort that evidences no signs of tiring, indeed based on this example it will easily last for another 20 years. In short, this is a true knockout.Score 94
Meursault Goutte d'Or 1986: As with many '86s, an exotic fruit nose that is now full on secondary yet reasonably fresh as well merges into delicious middle weight flavors that deliver excellent complexity while the persistent finish is supported by plenty of racy acidity. I really like the balance here as this has not become top heavy the way a number of other '86s have at this point in their evolution. In a word, excellent.Score 92
